I'm soon moving to Dublin, I'll work in Dublin 4. Can you please give me some advice to select the area. I have to make a compromise between cost-distance/work-nice area. Any advices??

  1. Hi,

Dublin 4 is one of the more expensive places to live. Area's such as Terneure/Templeogue on the south side are very pleasant and not too expensive. However it might not suit you. Check www.daft.ie. for accomodation. It will give you an idea of the prices you can expect to pay for the various areas in Dublin and also the transport situation. Dublin 4 would be well served by Dublin Bus.

  2. The best areas to live in are Dublin 2, Dublin 4, Dublin 6..... I also heard Ballsbridge is a nice area to live in and pretty much near everything you need.

I have a couple friends who live there so that is what they have told me.

  3. If you are going to be working in Dublin 4 you should try and live somewhere that has good transport links to the area.  D4 is the most expensive along with D2 so my advice would be to try for somewhere a little futher out along the coast.  Blackrock, Stillorgan, Booterstown etc.  They are a bit cheaper to live in and have the best transport links in the city.  Alternatively you could try anywhere along the Dart line.  A good place to start looking if you are renting is Daft.ie-Best of luck with the move!!

  4. Dublin 4 is very expensive (it is one of the nicest place to live) Dublin 2 is not far, central and very nice as well, I would recommend Dublin 2 I lived there and I was very happy
