  1. Well they too are great athletes/sportsmen. Much greater then he is at the moment, though I have no doubt he will be one of the Olympic greats of alltime.

  2. Thank god it's a cricketer and Matty Hayden at that too which is definitely good for cricket and Aus.I didn't know Haydos would send a autographed bat.Wow!

Don't worry about Singh is King, the dude lives in a different world to us all.

  3. Even  being English, the fact that it is a cricketer, and and not an American "footballer" is right in their faces.

Good on him.  Rivalry aside as you said.

  4. no i dont.

  5. lmao at Ghost's remarks. Why havent we got more guys like that in this section?

  6. Yes i heard him being interviewed on channel 7 after his race..

He loves Matty Hayden..I think it is excellent that someone from an overseas country has an Aussie as an Idol..Great for cricket and great for us Aussies.

Matt is very chuffed and he is going to send Usain an autographed bat as a Gidday and thanks from Australia.

  7. They do play cricket in Jamaica so his not American.  He would have grown up watching cricket.  And West Indies had a good team when he was a boy.

  8. I see ashish bhatia is still making multiple posts to the questions - "Singh is king" and "man behind the mask".

Some things never change, (unless of course we're referring to ashish bhatia's employment record), do they ashish?

Bolt is from Jamaica, not America!! And sorry pal, but Jamaica certainly IS NOT part of the American continent. Check your facts first.

  9. i agree with the fourth answerer Oz (king) , however i'm also a fan of cricketer Mathew Hayden and Adam Gilchrist , it doesn't matter, what profession you are in, you always can have an idol of different profession !

    hope it helps!

    god bless!

  10. Unfortunately for cricket, Bolt did not follow his childhood passion of cricket, fast bowling in particular. He was once the best at high school level in the island, and probably the best in the whole Caribbean! He would have been amazing to watch charging in!

  11. Its not a big suprise as i already knew that Usain Bolt comes from the cricketing mad West Indies, and i already knew that he was a cricket fan and that he played cricket from a young age.

Just to tell you that Usain Bolt if from the Carribean and not the "Americas"

Bolt is an inspiration to young people just like Hayden and Gilchrist are/were.

Its good to see (from reading Ange's answer) that Hayden will send a cricket bat to Bolt.

I hope Usain Bolt (who will now be world famous) spreads the love of his cricket around the world, and maybe gets some more young people interested in cricket & athletics

  12. Gr8 honor for hayden and Gilly

  13. wow this guy sing is something  & is suffering from mental disorder plus a ,born loser

  14. It is indeed good thing that cricket & cricketers have fan following in other sports. Looks like cricketers can inspire other sportsmen. There are a few more names to add to the list. He is fan of Hayden, Gilly, Tendulkar & Chris Gayle

And if not an athlete, Bolt would have been a fast bowler.

Bolt's idols from athletics include Herb McKenley and, former Jamaican 200 metres record holder, Don Quarrie,. Michael Johnson etc.

Other notable cricket fans from other sports:

Christian Vieri, Italian Football team's forward, (looks like his career is over with Italy) said Alan Border is his greatest sporting hero

Dietmar Hamann,  the German midfielder said that he wished he had got the chance to learn how to play the game (cricket)
