Do you know who is considered South Africa's heritage artists ?

I am curently dealing in what is considerred heritage art but found very little info about one of our best painters A.J.swanepoel .I know some of his paintings are at Wits Art gallery . Can someone please help me ?

Man, I have looked everywhere, even in old encyclopaedias, and find no mention of him.

Heavy I have googled Aj Swanepoel and got nothing, I do not think he is a heritage artist, what about Irma Stern, Johannes Meintjies, Pierneef, Claerhout etc.? I am sure they are heritage artists?

A friend gave me a painting by Richard Rennie which he brought from South Africa and I was under the impression Rennie was a South African artist.
