Just a reminder gang....trivia questions every nite at 10pm est unless of a nite race or if I have to be out of town.

Here we go....who am I?

My first solid ride came with a team my father drove for 6 years before

I earned a sponsor as bright as I was after some good finishes...

My first career win came at what was considered my home track

In my second Daytona 500 I became famous by finishing 2nd???

In my third Daytona 500 my car flipped on the backstretch but to show

how tough my car and my crew was...we got back out and finished

25th....thank goodness for duct tape!!! Let's see the COT do that!

I started winning but only on the big tracks....I stuggled on the smaller

tracks until I edged out Mark Martin in a photo finish at a famous

short track. Later that same year I got my 8th career win at Charlotte.

The next year I won at Michigan by beating a relative's team to the line

the young driver was upset....but hey it's a win....you do what you have to for the win.

My final full year in CUP was and still is considered my finest....

Won the Daytona 500 and several more races and nearly won the championship.....

My final year in CUP I left my team unexpectedly and it shocked the

NASCAR world. But alot of people like to think I am still racing....and who knows maybe I am. Who am I ????

  1. It has to be Davey Allison

  2. Davey Allison definetly

  3. This one's an easy answer for an old Davey Allison fan...

    RIP

The 2nd at Daytona came to his dad. What a race!

  4. I am going to take a stab at this..... I am going to say Davey Allison. He won the Daytona in 1992 his last full year and nearly won the championship but shocked the world (I didn't sleep for 4 days) when he died. i was pregnant  with my first child and was going to name the baby Allison if it was a girl I had a boy.

If i am wrong you better tell me who it was. i am new to this.

  5. Davey Allison

  6. Davey Allison

He drove for the team Donnie Allison drove for (Donnie isn't his dad, though)

Ok I guess he drove for Bobby too

Finished 2nd in his 2nd Daytona 500 in 1988.  Finished 25th in his third Daytona 500.

1990 he held off Mark Martin to win at Bristol.

He beat Hut Stricklin to the line in the 1991 Michigan race, and Hut drove for Bobby Allison.

He finished 3rd in points, with 5 wins in his final full season.

Monday, July 12, 1993, Davey Allison boarded his newly acquired Hughes 369HS helicopter to fly to Talladega Superspeedway to watch family friends Neil Bonnett and David Bonnett test a car for David's Busch Series debut. He picked up another family friend, legendary racer Red Farmer, en route to the track. Allison was attempting to land the helicopter inside a fenced-in area of the track infield when the craft nosed up suddenly, then crashed. He passed away.

    RIP

My dad was a big fan of his, but I was to young to really remember him. I bet if he and Kulwicki were still alive Jeff Gordon may not have had as many championships in the 90s

  7. Got to be the great Davey Allison. His death was a tragedy in the Nascar world.

  8. RIP Davey Allison

  9. Davey allison, though i dont remember the martin race, i do know he left his team and i always here the he's still racin' from a friends father that said that was the day NASCAR changed

  10. It took me awhile, but it's Davey Allison may he RIP.

  11. Yep Davey.

    Purchased from Harry Ranier.

The part that threw me was duct taped back together...could not get Dale's car out of my mind for that one. (btw, looking at the COT...it might not even need a pit stop after a rollover...LOL)
