Who am I?

My rookie year was in 1981, in that year Ron Bouchard and I share a stat with Matt Kenseth and Dale Earnhardt Jr.

I scored Pontiacs first win since 1963 and my first win ever.

I drove for Levi Garrett before Hendrick stole my sponsor.

In 1987 I drove for a King but not Richard Petty

In 1990 I was really "motoring" and was considered a top driver.

In 1992 I nearly won the Daytona 500 but a slow stop cost me;

which was surprising since my crew was considered fast at Indy.

By 1998 after years of finishing top 10 in points I couldn't get a competitive ride So I became what ESPN called a "super-sub"

Today I still race as much as I can...although I can't afford CUP I still race on a wing and a prayer.....who am I?

The last sentance clinched it for me!!

About a year ago I visited his website and was impressed with him.  I always like to see him at least finish a race but that usually isn't too often.

Yep, it's Morgan Shepard and his "Racing with Jesus" decals on his car. That's the coolest thing I've ever seen on a Cup car.

Morgan Shepherd.  Interesting website on the link below.  He has had quite a career.

In May 2006 Morgan made the decision to sell his entire team to his partners, which renamed the team CJM Racing LLC.

He runs part-time in the #0 for Davis in the Busch Series, his best finish 40th at Nashville Superspeedway. At the end of May & June, 2006 Morgan qualified in several Busch races in the #0 car for Johnny Davis.

In July 2006, Shepherd and Christian businessman Dana Tomes of West Virginia formed Faith Motorsports which put Shepherd and the #89 Racing With Jesus Dodge back in NASCAR's top racing series again.
