Programming note....no trivia over the weekend due to the night races

Here we go.....

Who am I ?

In 1975 I got my first start driving for a "Champion"

In 1976 Daddy paid my bills just like Menard today.

In 1978 I had to drop part time but could still race because

"checks" kept pouring in.

I then drove for Junie in the #90 but had no success.

The next year I drove the #7 Sanyo Chevrolet but was hired away

by a notoriously hard team to drive for. Their "jaws" was sore from

arguing with their previous driver...he didn't have the same thirst.

I left too after one season....and went flying with a then unproven

team. Went on to get my first career win with them.

But I traded rides and flipped when I got to Daytona!!!!

Years later I drove for a king and became a road racing winner

I chewed on it for a while and left that team....I was fit to be tyed

when I went off to drive for what I consider MY BEST BOSS.

But when "the boss" ran out of money the "driver" became available

again. I got a few more wins in the twilight in my career. And walked

away until I got the burning for it again....let's just say where there

was smoke there was fire.

My career finished sweetly even though I didn't win anymore.

Who am I ?

  3. Ricky Rudd made his NASCAR debut at North Carolina Speedway in 1975, driving the #10 Ford for family friend Bill Champion.

    Checks kept pouring in: 1st National City Travelers Check funded him

    1979, he signed with Junie Donlavey

    he joined King Racing in 1988

    At Martinsville in 1998 he gave his victoy interview laying on the ground with an oxygen mask...because of a faulty cooling system in his car.

    I don't know about the reference to the "jaws".  I can't find it.

    OMG..>Darrell Waltrip!!  LOL   I really didn't know that.

    The sweet finish was the Snickers sponsor!!!!!
