Do you know why bees hang around my pool?

we have a 4 foot deep pool and we got it from walmart and every time i want to swim i cant because their are allot of bees and im afraid they will sting me is this normal???

  1. My guess is that they are Wasps and not Bees. Wasps build their nest out of paper that they make themselves. To do this they need water so that when they find a convenient source of water they will probably be buildin their nest within a rocks throw from your pool.

    If that is the case you will have to follow them and find out where their nest is. Then go buy a can of wasp killer spray. You wait until it is about as dark as it can get and you still be able to see the nest. That way they will all be in it because they go home before dark and you don't want to miss any. Then you spray the <blank> out of it from about  10 feet away!

    If they really are bees you can try to ignore them or take Scott's great advice (I just saw that) but if it's a major problem you might want to call in experts that can move the nest.


  2. Bees are attracted to water during the summer months for obvious reasons, they are living creatures, and get thirsty.  Try adding a small bird bath for the bees, and a couple of cups of bleach or chlorine to your pool.
