  1. because no one knows who u r  its no diff from the stupid made up ?'s people post

  2. I agree with javornik. ;-)

  3. Because they can....which is really the answer to why people do anything.

  4. some people ARE sarcastic - it is their primary characteristic. so when they give answers here, they go where their strength is.

  5. I think it's because people use the internet to relieve their stress.  They may feel powerless, but when they are on the internet, they can feel like they are on an ego trip.  They can say basically whatever they want without people ever knowing who they are in person and getting punished for it.  So what if someone gets banned from this site? It doesn't really matter... they could just make a new account.  So I think the sarcastic answers are just how a lot of people use the internet as a playground to let out their frustrations and stress.

  6. i think its very mean whn ppl do tht too. i think its because they themselves dont know the answer to the questions so they respond in the unnessesscery sarcastic reply. its also sometimes their lack of knowledge tht makes them really belive what they have said . they really do belive it i guess tht every1s entitled to their opinion.

  7. Sarcastic or ironic ? Life is an irony, everyone realizes that, and the so called sarcasm is just another by product of life itself ! Internet reflects human souls...and they're frustrated, they feel lame and intimidated...Internet is a possibility for such a person to communicate his ( her ) frustrations, that's why I don't blame them...

  8. Why not? Most of these questions are to get a reaction anyways.

  9. Because some people have inferiority complexes and feel that if they put someone else down it will make them feel better.

  10. For sh**ts and giggles or boredom.

  11. uh...duh?

  12. Because the answers of some of the questions could be easily looked up by the person asking the question and eliminate this entire process.

  13. Because they do not have knowledge or facts to make a sensible answer.  The lol's and the yes or no"s are very annoying, they just want points for some strange empty reason.

  14. Giving a sarcastic answer, laughing at other people, belittling, degrading, it is all the same.  It is an attempt to make the person feel smarter, stronger, or dominant over someone else.

It is a very immature reaction acted out in an attempt to take the other person 'down a notch'.  They cannot compete or contribute in an intelligent way ....so they mock others to try to build themselves up.

Much like in school when bullies pick on someone weaker when the weaker person tries to accomplish something.  They try to keep the 'percieved' weak person down where they can be 'controlled'.

Animalistic behavior.  They want to be dominant.  They know their dominance is always at risk of being stripped from them.  They hold onto the dominance in any way that they can.  Eventually, they realize that they don't need it.

Until then, we all must put up with their immature attempts to hang onto it.

  15. People are sarcastic and overall not very helpful.  The fairly recent research paper linked here titled...

Here is a bit of it...

"....Social Roles Online. There are many important social roles in online discussion groups: local experts, answer people, conversationalists, fans, discussion artists, flame warriors, and trolls (Burkhalter and Smith 2003; Golder 2003; Turner et al 2005; Herring 2004; Haythornthwaite and Hager 2005). These social roles have primarily been identified through ethnographic study of the content of interaction (Golder 2003; Donath 1996; Marcoccia 2004) while some effort has been made to use behavioral and structural cues to recognize these roles (Viegas and Smith 2004; Turner et al. 2005). These approaches leveraged visualizations of initiation, reply and thread contribution rates over time to identify distinct patterns of contribution. Exploring these images led to the identification of additional roles including “question person” and “discussion person” who contribute initial turns that elicit brief replies or who typically reply to threads initiated by others with large numbers of additional messages.

Of these roles, the answer person is important for pragmatic and theoretical reasons. Online discussion groups exist for almost any focal activity, from kite flying, computer programming, or music performance, to political activism and beyond. In these spaces it is common to find people asking and answering questions. An answer person is a participant in an online discussion group whose primary mode of interaction is the provision of helpful, informative responses to other group members’ questions. The best answer people will provide prompt, accurate, and thorough help. Participants who enact this role are an important source of the value found in online discussion groups. They offer this help to potential strangers without direct compensation or expectation of reciprocity and, often, without thanks..."

    Hope this helps!

  16. Because, most of the time, people ask stupid questions with pretty obvious answers and so people give them what they deserve... but other times, they just don't know the answers but want  their opinions to be heard anyway.

  17. Because this is the only place they have a "captive" audience, well at least they think so.  God Bless.
