I have no idea what her blood type is. Shouldn't the hospital provided that info to me? She is now six years old. Should I ask the doctor at her next visit?

What is your impute?

Thank You

  1. As I understood it...the child's blood type is usually the father's blood type. In our case, O positive.

If not the father's...then usually whomever has the dominant genes.

  2. Ours is easy..We are both A-, so all of our kids are too..Makes it easy to remember!

  3. Just ask his doctor, It's probably in his file.

BTW, it's not the father's blood type like the previous poster said.  My son has my blood type and my daughter has a different blood typ, neither have the same type as my husband.

  4. Wow, I never even thought of that!  My son is 6 months are I have no idea what his blood type is!  I'd ask the doctor at your next visit...I'm definitely going to.

  5. I'm not a Mom, but my parents know my blood type. I'm a B positive. I'm not sure on my brother, but I think he's also B positive, my Dad is O negative, and I have no idea what my Mom is.

Yes, ask your doctor. At anytime he could get in an accident and  need a blood transfusion. And you'll need to know his blood type.
