  1. I live Great Britain, my local hills are called The Mendips, they are in S.W. England and rise to 1068ft above sea level.

they are very beautiful, if you're ever down this way, take a look.

  2. The Malvern Hills, on the border of Worcestershire and Herefordshire, rise up from the Severn Plain up to 1394 feet.

Great walking country, they inspired the likes of William Langland and Sir Edward Elgar.

  3. I am in Hyderabad, the geographic center of Deccan plateau in India. This plateau is at an average elevation of a thousand feet.

Hyderabad is at 1800' with hills strewn around. Banjara hills & Jubilee hills at the west of city have become now residential posh areas with land prices unaffordable for a common man (Our family used to have a 1000sq.meter area, but we sold it!). All hills here are weathered over a million years or more into smooth, weird shapes. Some are arranged like columns one rock on top of another, as though a giant kid playfully arranged. Some summits are a hundred feet above their surroundings. They are so precariously perched that they appear to tumble any moment; but are there for centuries. The hectic pace of construction (of houses, offices, malls, hotels), realtor business and quarrying removed one hill after the other. Near where I am building a home, the hills called 'Fakruddin gutta' have been pulverised by a city developers whose business is worth billions of rupees. I heard that there is a society or association of hill lovers in the city!
