  1. The recognized record is 526 by Willie Mosconi.

I was at an exhibition match in Chicago many years ago where Willie was letting two guys deliberately get a lead on him. When they missed the two players were ahead 47-12. All the while they are running their three racks Willie just sat playing with his stick. When they missed Mosconi approached the table and ran 138 and out. It was a great piece of shooting.

  2. Eightbraker beat me to it.  This is why I'm straight_shooter526, in memory of Willie Mosconi.  Good question.  M.D.-BCA Instructor/Referee.

  3. Willie Mosconi 526 you both beat me i am getting old

  4. LOL dunno, sounds like a question they should ask on that show Are you Smarter than a 5th Grader...maybe in the science category.

  5. Willie Mosconi ran 526 balls on march 19th 1954. He set this record during an exhibition match in springfield Ohio. He actually never missed and could of set the record even higher but he had to leave the match due to other commitments.

  6. yep those guys got there quick...do any of you guys remember the film of Mosconi shooting trick shots using match books as a jump ramp,  jumping from one table to another and making 6 balls, and other trick shots? amazing...I once ran 52 balls playing straight pool and thought afterwards...he made more than ten times that run...blew me away...
