  1. I thought it was a great-uncle, and no, but now that I think about it, so what? It was a popular war, there was a draft, every man who was of the right age and health went. I dare say the vast majority of Americans can't swing a dead cat without hitting at least one WWII vet in their family tree. I've got two grandfathers, one step-grandfather, and probably a dozen great-uncles that served.

  2. No, but that is funny!

  3. It's not a 2nd cousin twice removed and no, I don't think it's funny. I'm also not impressed by it. I'm also not impressed by McCain being a lousy pilot and POW. None of it is relevant, but Obama brings up his relative to point out to Americans that he's an American with American roots just like the rest of us. To that extent, I understand why he mentions it.

  4. There aren't too many WW2 vets and greatest generationers still alive.  They are dwindling daily. We should honor them.  But we don't owe them our vote for President.

Also Obama's parents aren't alive, so I found it touching, as I did the dignity of Michelle Obama's mother.

The presentations were very different than Palin's thin snide attacks.  I thought she missed an opportunity.

  5. No.  Do you?  If you do someone should relocate your backside.

  6. I think he feels it necessary to compete with McCain's war stories.  And maybe thats all he's got.

  7. That's not an accurate quote. Why are you such a douche.
