Do you let Astrology put Limitation on you?

Question

so I guess this can relate to the negative stereotypes of all the signs..

ie: Taurus are reserved and negative and can never be aggressive. Aquarius can not be romantic. Capricorn are boring and cannot be a social butterfly..etc..

No, I dont let Astrology put limitation on me. I can achieve anything and whatever I want with hard work and positive attitude. Astology doesn't tell me how to live my life. Also, the rest of ones chart matters and it is psychology in general. We're all different, and we are all who we choose to be. It cannot completely classify our behavior, nor can it completely predict how an individual will behave.

I couldn't have said it better myself, Arch. Astrology is a guideline, and can help you understand certain things about people....but it can never tell you how to live your life or what choices to make. Our actions can sometimes be explained by astrology, but astrology is not always the reason for our actions. First of all, to really study a person's characteristics, it takes a well trained astrologer, who has studied for years and really knows what they're talking about...Many of us on here are not at that level. I know that I am not. I dabble in it, and I find it interesting, but I know that I have a lot to learn and that I can not access people based on it. I like to use it to learn about myself, more so than other people, because I find that it can help me understand the way I react to things...But I ultimately am the person I want to be. I get angry when people stereotype and abuse astrology in a way that is not correct. Putting limitations on people, and making ignorant assumptions....It's foolish, and shows that they are not really thinking outside the box. They just say whatever they want to stimulate their minds and inflate their egos. It's human nature, and sometimes we can't take things too literally.

I would never avoid someone because of the placements in their chart...And I would never expect something from them. To underestimate someone will ultimately lead to your own failure. Astrology is really more about our karmic life lessons and dealings...Not a one dimensional classification broken up into twelve different descriptions.

Hello Arch!

I'm a Virgo and I have heard them all. Nit-picky, perfectionist, up-tight, anal, boring, etc. I could go on and on. I don't let it bother me. I just stay true to myself and what I think is the right thing to do. Don't let anything or anyone label you. You are one of a kind and your own person. If you don't like something about your life you are right you can change it. It will take some effort on your part though and some positive thinking. However, anything is possible. I truely believe that.

I don't think I do... Sometimes I use it as an excuse, when I don't want to go through all the "this behaviour is connected to that, and that, and... and that's how I came to act this way". A nice shortcut. Also, still true, because my entire chart describes me to a tee.

I never tried to make my behaviour fit my chart, it simply fell into place. Whenever someone notices my obvious urge for sharing utterly trivial knowledge, there's not really an explanation for that... It's just an urge. The thing is, and you know this as well, that *any* planetary position can go either way, depending on how you - or your environment - treat it. Given necessary care, a badly positioned mercury might never turn out sour. Given the wrong care, perhaps that same mercury can turn out even worse than it was meant to be according to your chart. So it would be simply rediculous to think that your chart - even Astrology in general - would bear any limitation on you. After all, your environment doesn't seem to have any problems influencing it, right?

No. I understand that the energies of each sign in their placements represent and demonstrate potential, not limits. If I want something, I just go get it.

Astrology isn't about limits and "which sign suxs the most"...that's just small minds thinking in small ways. It's about understanding that each energy is essential to the whole, and learning to make each energy work for you, not against you.

Just my thought.

interesting question arch, no i don't either.. because with the limitations up there i think aquarius's are very romantic and taurus very positive :)

I also find, as a cancer, i get along best with aries and gemini, altho believing that might be a limitation :b i find that you can never really tell what people are like from their signs! only if you know them first, i used to dislike leos because they seemed to only talk about themsleves and never ask about you, but then recently without knowing my new friends sign she was a leo and she was soo lovely! I think when you expect a sign to be a certain way you are forever looking for that in them and expecting disapointment (bacause all signs have disapointments) and this can only be negative. For a cancer i just look for if i feel secure enough to trust them and then im happy, sometimes i think it would be better not to know their sign, but i am always heaps curious anyway haha.

for myself, i also find my personality has been very shapped by my suroundings and experiences, and so how can every cancer have these same experiences? i don't always believe i am a fall cancer but only that im hypersensitive and inside insecure, but i guess most people are  to a certain degree. cool question =D

No way. They say Libras can be fickle, indecisive, and flirty and personally, I hate those traits so I try not to be your typical Libra.

Some people believe that people who believe in astrology are gullible but really we just know more than them and if they think that we let astrology rule our lives, they are out of their minds.

Haha, good question. I only use astrology to better myself, maybe it's my Virgo Mars so I suppose I have high standards, but I don't let it rule my life.

Something that has not been mentioned is  Astrology  as a guide.
