unless theyre relatives, no. i mean, why would a 23 year old wanna be friends with a 14 year old. how much could they really have in common. id be concerned with the older guys motives. you never know though....

I sure the h**l wouldnt, why would a 23 want to be friends with a 14 yr old boy? Thats a HUGE NO NO NO ive seen way to many stories about that and they didnt end good and one was

Well it is weird, but what kind of influence does the 23 year old guy have on your son?

If you think he is being a bad influence, and introducing him to mature things like drugs, alcohol, gangs, etc., definitely cut off contact.

If you think he is a positive role model like a church group leader or is really responsible, then it may be safe for your son.

However the influence, make sure you keep a close eye on what the two are doing when they hang out, go out, or talk. Don't trust him completely.

Maybe you can talk to your son about why he wants to be friends with him, how they became friends, and what the older guy is like (personality, accomplishments, jobs, etc.)

Unless it was some sort of mentoring relationship, no, I would not allow it.  What could a 14 year old and a 23 year old possibly have in common?  And if they do, then that means the 23 year old is incredibly immature, yet of legal age and can drive - and that spells trouble.  I don't think thats a good set up.

This screams PEDOPHILE/PREDATOR!!! DO NOT let your son hang our with someone that old, that is just a disaster in the making, if something hasn't already happened. Yikes.

How much do you trust your son to do the right thing. You see your son could be very mature and hang out with older people and mature enough to say no to all tempations out there.

Only you and your son can answer this question. The only problem is that if he is mature he will miss out on his teen years.

Now on the other hand if you don't trust this 23 year old, do the detective work, and find out what this cat is about, then its up to you weather he stay or goes. Becareful how you achieve this, because this will effect your relationship with your boy

If it is his uncle or cousin I don't see why not, if you trust them as a family member, but i think a 23 year old guy hanging out with a 14 year old is a bit strange, unless he is maybe like in a big brother program or something like that. I guess you need to decide on your own if you feel comfortable letting your young teenage son hanging out with a young adult who could potentially purchase cigarettes and beer for him.

Of course i would let my kids be friends wid any age of friends ... coz age doesn't matter 4 true friendships! =) my oldest friend's around 50 years old n my parents are fine wid this.... Keep smiling! Miss ya!!

That is odd.Either this guy has the hots for you, your son or maybe a daughter.

Then maybe again he is trying to give your kid some guidance if there is no man in his life.

Keep your eyes open because it is unusual for a 23 yr old guy to want to hang out with a 14 yr . old boy.Except for maybe video games, what else would they have in common?
