Is it mean to tell them no? I don't mean sticking their paws in it but watching the fish and batting at them? Is it stressful for the fish?

  1. Of course I let my cat l**k itself in front of me!  It's a sign of trust when they do that.  They only bath when they are happy and contented and they wouldn't wash their genitals in front of you if they didn't trust that you wouldn't hurt them while they are in such a vulnerable position.  Besides, how else are they going to get clean?

I have lots of fish tanks and 3 cats.  My cats like to watch the fish and sometimes drink out of the fish tanks.  I don't care.  The fish don't seem to mind either.  Sometimes my crazy guppies will all go over to the spot where the cat's sitting like they think the cat's going to feed them!  The cats don't ever paw at the glass anymore.  They did at first, but they got over it fast once they figured out they couldn't get at the fish that way.  And they only ever smacked the water once.  They are far too spoiled and pampered to get their precious little paws wet for the sake of trying catch a fish!

  2. the genitals Q: of course I do! its only hygenic for the cat! what a question... otherwise its behind would stay dirty and it would get eczema!

the fish: yes it is stressful for the fish, doesn't matter whether children or cats tap on the fish tank. but if theres no way to stop it give your cats more toys to distract it.

Try this: hang a bird feeder infront of your window. the cats will tap the window and get all excited about the birds comeing to feed, but they cannot hurt the birds. I call it "Cat TV". :-)

  3. Cats clean themselves by l*****g, so of course I want my cats clean.  When they are l*****g I leave them to it!

My cats love my fish tank....and the fish seem to like them as well.  The cats run around the tank, and the fish swim around the tank watching them.  I guess if the fish were stressed they would try to hide, but they don't.

They are all happy and healthy.

  4. when my dog or cat licks its private parts i usually tell it no or stop that.  so does my mom, and i tell my friends cats to stop when i see them too.
