And if you know...

Recipe for Char Siew Pau?

My uncle (a chinese chef) used to teach/show me of how to make them before, and I was like 10 at that time, lol. Now I'm 19 and I totally forgot it all, ha! I think I remember that it was kind of hard to make? not sure. Anyway. All the details please? would be nice. And any kinds, but just not the pork kind (I don't eat pork)

Xie xie! -Thanks!

Again, I appreciate all the answers.

And have a lovely day all ^.^

  1. char siew pau or any pau is rather difficult to make ... esp the white pau ...

the recipe is rather complicated...the grade of the flour is important so as to achieve the soft white texture...

I've had got a recipe that is really good.. but than after making it after 1 round ... I threw it away .. cos it was too much work for a pau! I rather go out and buy one for just $1.50 than go throught the effect again...

Sorry mate ... it is really hard work.. not only on the pau but also on the way to wrap it up!!

  2. i like char siew pau.. it taste good.....

i left the recipe at home... i am out station now.. so next time just give you lo..

    wish you good luck!!!

  3. i like pau. its a delicious snack. i always prefer the black bean (tau suan).

  4. I think you mean Cha Siu Baau, the barbecued pork dumplings.  They are my favourite Dim Sum dish, but I wasn't aware you could make them with anything other than char sui pork.

I've just checked out Amazon and they have a whole range of Dim Sum cookbooks.  Dim Sum by Kit Shan Li has a picture of them on the front - so that one seems like a safe bet!
