  1. i born in gujarat so always gujarati luv to speak but since i came to USA jus speak gujarati at home nd all other place boring english

but speak hindi with sum friends n like to speak tht

  2. Poor Raj... So Hindi is a foreign language in India, while the only people outside of India who speak it are Indians...

That's it, I'm taking up ASL. A tleast I'll be dealing with people who've got something to be really hung-up about (and who won't know I'm swearing with my hand over my mouth).

  3. Indians got to understand first, Hindi is not a language of India at all. This language was brought to India by the invading Muslims from Persia. The Persian language mixed with the local KariBoli dialect to form the modern Hindi around 16 century CE. As the language was Persianised as URDU or Arabic, Indians included Sanskrit words to make it a bit Indianised. One should be ashamed to speak in Hindi instead of their own mother tongue or the state language.

Not many states accepted Hindi as their Natiional language for example states like Tamil Nadu and Assam. We cannot lose the rich indiginous state language at the cost of a foriegn language. This is the fact we have to accept, Take pride in talking in your own mother tongue rather than Hindi.

  4. Although hindi is not my mother tongue still i speak it more fluently and i think in hindi and speak mostly in hindi.

  5. I LOVE HINDI LANGUAGE..ITS JUST SO CLASSY AND SWEET PLUS I LOVE SPEAKING IT..AFTERALL IT IS OUR NATIONAL LANGUAGE AND IT BINDS NEARLY A BILLION PEOPLE TOGETHER....THATS JUST GREAT!

  6. My opinion, no one needs to agree to it.

I understand that Hindi is our national language and I respect that.

But would I prefer Hindi over my own state language?? Never. I rather speak my own language if I can. Although, I communicate with bunch of my friends in Hindi doesn't mean I would prefer to do that, its just that I don't have any other option besides Hindi or English.

  7. Its very nice that you like hindi more than your state language. I also love Hindi and on this 61st Independence day of India (15th of august 2008) we arranged a grand party here in USA and in that party no one was allowed to speak in any language other than Hindi.

But i am afraid that many of the Indians feel shame in speaking hindi in other countries.Children used to get punishment for speaking in Hindi in schools. This is not fair. We Indians should be proud of our National language. I mean its good to know other languages also but you should first know your national language.

Its really very good of you that you learned hindi and you are liking it More than your state language.

You being an inspiration for all Indians ......

    Keep it UP

    Jai Hind!!!!

  8. congratulations first of all for the great marks in hindi,

Yes, Hindi is indeed a nice language as all of them said above but that might be just bercause since its out national language we feen emotional for it or further may be because I am a north Indian and Hindi is what mostly spoken here.

Further, To bind all the states together, we needed one language in India, One language because of which there could be more peace and harmony, one language which everyone could speak anywhere in India and everywhere it could be comprehended and hence HINDI that is derived from Sanskrit was chosen as it was already spoken widely.

I do have a regional language too and I can fluently speak that too, and being an Indian mostly all of us can also speak english well, but HINDI,above all will remail imprtant to me and I will continue loving it because it gives us a sense of unity, nationalism and these feeling further cultivates feeling of patriotism.

even if it makes me sound a su(c)ker for patriotism and nationalism, yet I would conclude by saying

I LOVE HINDI AND I LOVE TAKE PRIDE IN SPEAKING IT
