  1. Clean - nonsense.  It's cleaner than 1950s nuclear power, as new designs for nuc. powerstations are more efficient and get more power from the same amount of uranium.

Safe: Definitely safer than before, again: new designs with passive safety systems (relying on convection, gravity and natural processes, not on pumps which can fail).

    Cheap: Bollocks.  It's not cheap.

Added benefit: I like that one.

Too many environment-activists have developed a reflex: Nuclear Power = NO.

And by the same token they don't want wind power (because you can see the windmills) ... they just want to stick with fossil fuel powerplants (which should be built in someone else's backyard).

Nuclear power is a good option to stop the growth of fossil fuel usage, and help the transition to sustainable power.

  2. Yes.

  3. Sure, we'll need it as a backup on those windless winter nights when solar and wind shut down.

  4. Well actually it is not necessarily clean because it does generate a lot of nuclear waste. The nuclear waist is stored in many places and it in threat of leakage which could have catastrophic results on the environment.

  5. No,too unstable a power source to control.Think solar, wind or geothermal-we know more about these subjects and can ontrol them better.

These are also free    since they are here all the time and most everywhere.

  6. Why not. If we're going to ruin Earth with natural things like coal then why not use nuclear power and implement 'safe precautions'?

There's a predestined time frame for life on Earth. There should be little concern now for sustainability.

  7. I don't like nuclear power. Eventhough clean and cheap it has some side effects that could be harmful to us people.
