Question:

Do you like Obama's response as much as me?

First, I'm a huge McCain supporter and I'm going to try to paraphrase Obama's words.

When he was informed about the announcement that the Palin daughter is pregnant and that this was announced because of the rumors floating around. We all know which rumors; here's what he said.

"The pregnancy is not an issue and children are off limits in the campaign. He had no part in the rumors and if he finds that anybody in his staff played a part in the rumors, then they will be fired."

Remember I was paraphrasing. But I think he said exactly the right thing. I've got to give my respect to Obama on that one.

  1. First, I agree that Obama's position on this issue is the only position a politician can take and claim the moral high ground.

Realistically, I'm of mixed emotions regarding the family of a Presidential candidate. Our children can and do make mistakes (as do all of us), despite all of our best efforts. So the making of a mistake (the pregnancy) is not and should not be an issue in the campaign. How our children resolve their mistakes says a great deal about their upbringing. Gov. Palin knowingly chose to give birth to her fifth child after learning he would have Down Syndrome. It should come as no surprise that her daughter holds life to be sacred and will choose life for her unborn child. A great reflection on Gov. and Mr. Palin.

  2. Excellent response, but what can he say. That he faults a mother for standing by her child who made a mistake and needs her help. Maybe he should have been this considerate before he threw the white grandmother that raised him under the bus because it was politically expedient to do so at the time.

  3. Of course

If I was part of his staff, I would have leaked the story to the press but I would have covered my bum too...hehe

  4. I'm sure he had a hand in this, because his supporters are a reflection of him. I hope they do something to all of these *** holes here on YA. Maybe since AT&T owns Yahoo. They will be kicking *** and taking names.

  5. This is all political bs. You know his campaign pushed that topic so he can look good by saying that he condems this type of rhetoric. Meanwhile they get the benefit of having tried to smear Palin. the problem is that the republicans dont have as much of the media to spread around their bs

  6. Good, I'm glad to hear him say that.

    OB08

  7. He said the only thing he could say.

As usual in Washington, it is not the act but the covering up of the act that needs to be looked at.

  8. Obama has done a heroes job of trying to keep this out of the mud.  He's a shrewd man.  He knows that once the mud gets flying there is no telling who it sticks to.

  9. He is absolutely right.

    That's my President.

  10. Obama is not stupid....He is not like his supporters...

  11. Senator Obama is a gentleman.  I hope this shames the people who called him a Muslim, socialist, anti-Christ,etc. as well as all of the vicious remarks about Michelle, his mother, his father, his children, and all of the fried chicken & watermewlon remarks.

  12. I do. It was classy answer and I would have expected no less from him.

  13. Yes, it was the correct response and one that McCain would also given if this situation were reversed.

Add:  on Y/A, people need to learn the difference between Obama/McCain supporters and trolls.

  14. At least he's a lot more intelligent than his supporters. Let's hope he fulfills that promise.

  15. Obama is a good talker and I trust him to do an unusually good job at delivering a speech.  An empathetic person may not necessarily deliver a good speech.  An empathetic cop is not the one who left the big beautiful police-dept. owned dog for approx 6 hours inside his automobile in heat and if that cop to which dog was assigned was empathetic the dog would not have died the way it did.

I am a McCain supporter too. He was probably born empathetic.  Certainly his war experience must have made him even more so.

  16. I agree with it.

  17. I expected a classy response from Obama. The thing is, they don't need family drama to rip Palin apart on how inexperienced she is. She has plenty of scandals in her professional life to answer for right now anyway.

  18. I completely agree!

  19. Obama is an honorably man with real family values.

  20. Yes, certainly

  21. Yes I do even though I will not be voting for him.

To bad so many of his supporters don't really listen to him.

  22. Obama is a man of GREAT character. This is why he is getting this ex republicans vote!

  23. Well, even Obama can be right once.

  24. of course he said that what else would he say?

I guess I'll give him a little credit but he's just playing the game of old politics, wait a minute...old...ah never mind.
