  1. I love St Thomas and St Martin but not for all-inclusive resorts.

St Martin is noted for it's food. You will get some delicious yummy food on St Martin. This island is considered the gourmet capital of the Caribbean. The beaches are also very nice. Good duty free shopping. Close to St Barts and Anguilla for a day trip.

St Thomas has beautiful beaches and the snorkeling and diving are excellent. You are close to St John and the British Virgin Islands. You can get a ferry and spend the day. Also excellent duty free shopping.

Both of these islands are good choices but they are islands to be explored.

Oh and booze is very cheap on both of these islands. Stock up at the grocery store and have "happy hour' on your terrace.

If you want great all-inclusive resorts go to Mexico or to Dominican Republic. They also have nice beaches and plenty of all-inclusive resorts to choose from. Riviera Maya in Mexico and Punta Cana in Dominican Republic.

    Where ever you decide enjoy)

  2. I've never stayed in the french side, but at Sonesta Maho resort on the dutch side. I went to Orient beach on the french side. Best beach on the island, very beautiful.

  3. Everyone has their favorites, mine is St.Martin; be aware that St. Martin doesn't really have any "all-inclusive" clubs you might be picturing.."Sandals", "Breezes", etc.

Their are a few resorts that do offer some packages that include meals, but with the HUGE variety of quality restauraunts and eateries, the "all-inclusive" concept just hasn't caught on there; nor will it.  There are just to many reasons to leave the resort.

Again, having been to both locales many times, I prefer St. Martin due to the many more options for dining, nightlife, etc.

  4. As previously mentioned, very little A/I in St. Martin. Way too many good restaurants and things to do. Great place to rent a car and go explore.

Much better beaches in St. Martin, including a few where you can leave your swimsuit at the room.
