Question:

Do you like being a optometrist?

I am considering going back to school for it. The benefits seem pretty god - get to own your own business, make decent money, set your own hours...

Can someone tell me what the ups and downs are? If you had to do it over would you? I am also considering physical therapy...

  1. you should do what your passions are, not what other people beleive is good or not.

And then, even if you ask, you will only get personal and subjective point of view.

  2. Don't expect to be acknowledged as a "Doctor."

  3. Do it because you're interested in the field, not because the money is good and you can own your own business. If it means something to you in any way that doesn't involve money, then you should go for it. Otherwise you'll find flaws in everything you'll be doing, which in that case you should find something that makes you happy (money does not equal happiness). Think about it carefully because you will have to spend a lot just to go back.

  4. If you're gonna go back to school, become a real doctor not an optometrist

  5. ya

  6. Eye think so.

  7. Get 9into the medical main stream; for example pharmacy.  Almost every patient gets an Rx.

    Optometrists have few patients.
