  2. As a guy, I don't really like them for swimming. I prefer to wear a speedo type brief. Boardshorts chafe your thighs when wet, take too long to dry and give your legs a farmers tan. Speedos on the other hand dry much quicker and you get a fuller tan. I wear speedos to the pool and the beach all the time with my wife and kids.
