  1. I have loved Boxing for as long as I can remember, and one thing that hooks me is that besides every fight having a story behind it, in any fight, anything can happen and there is a rhythm to each fight and if it doesn't keep on, it will get nudged and prodded or else, like a ballet, but with jabs and uppercuts!  Plus the history of the sport is unprecedented.

  2. As to which I like better, it's hard to say..... both are completely different disciplines.  I like both, with a slight edge for MMA because of the variety of disciplines pitted against each other. Also, you can see more techniques being used from various disciplines being used in MMA matches.  Boxing is also integrated into almost every MMA fighter's arsenal.

  3. I like them both. I don't have a favorite sport, instead I look for good fighters to provide an exciting fight. I love to see a real war.

  4. do you mean to watch? if that is what you mean then certainly boxing b/c watching others grapple can be as fun as watching paint dry. And yes I prefer to box but grappling is a great workout and helps with fighting even if one is just boxing.

  5. Both are very exciting and entertaining. I'm a bigger MMA fan and know more about the sport, yet I'm more picky about what fights I enjoy. Where as Boxing, I have less of an interest in particular athletes and more of an interest in just watching 2 people go at it. What many consider to be a 'boring' boxing match, I still enjoy (assuming that it's technical). While the same isn't true in an MMA match.

Maybe it's because, in boxing, boring is often synonymous with slow-paced out fighting. Boring in MMA (for me at least) is when the combatants aren't particularly skillfull. Slugfests, to me, are boring. Footwork and feinting is something that I find interesting. Because a lot of MMA fighters don't have particularly great or dynamic striking, I generally prefer the ground fighting in MMA.

On a slightly different topic, Pro-tour, I think that you're a bit spoiled by padded records. PRIDE Fight Championships (a Japanese MMA promotion) had fighters that had records more similar to boxers, since they fed their celebrities easy fights and favorable matchups.

A reality of life/fighting/whatever is that you can't win'em all. The easiest way of cheating that rule is to compete against lesser opponents. But if you don't do that, you're gonna lose some time. In most MMA orgs, you don't get that many easy fights (on paper). For that very reason, a lot of MMA guys have stains on their records.

  6. If you are into watching half naked men rolling around mounting each other MMA is your sport. If you like to watch a genuine science that is not a 50/50 lucky shot game and has superior athletes, boxing is it.

MMA is rubbish. A lot of luck involved, you just need to look at their records. Even their top guys are sometimes hit with a fluke shot from a nil opponent and taken out. That's not a skilled sport.
