You're not strange at all. Some tortilla chips taste fine without salsa, but sometimes you just need that kick. I guess it just really depends on your preference.

It depends on the tortilla chip.  If it's like a Dorito chip, no salsa.  Just a corn tortilla chip, bring on the salsa.

without salsa is sometimes better than with them, especially if they are freshly made and still warm.  yum yum. so, no, you are not strangee.
