  3. Since I have been living in Germany for about 20 years I would have to say I love it. In Franconia/ Bavaria.

Things that I love about Germany are, the very low crime rate, the clean streets, the parks, gardens, bier gardens, outdoor cafes, and life style. I enjoy being able to walk to school to pick up my daughter then walk to the Ice Diela and buy an ice. I like taking walks on the weekends, riding my bike across the country visiting other little towns. I like meeting people, I like being able to drive 4 hours and I am in France, Switzerland, Austria, or Italy. Loved being in Germany during the world cup. Love the beer and the food. Love being able to go to a beer garden with my wife and child and it is not considered a "bad thing" to do without children in dark and seeded places. How a child's drinking is considered a parents concern and not that of society.

I also like driving on the Autobahns, the ability to drive as fast as your car will go. How do you think you can get to Italy in 4 hours from Franconia.

That the education systems focuses on education and not socialization.

I like the town Bamberg that I live in, the old and ancient streets, the various style of architecture, from various periods.

And I like the friends that I have made.

What I do not like is, living in the customer service waste land, (Althought things are improving) shops that do not have an exit other than through the cash register line. The inability of Germans to understand the concept of (waiting in line or forming a line) the incrediable taxes on everything, the idea that all wealth and knowledge comes from the government.

That government employees are a priviledges class and do not have to earn there pay. That 10 olds must choose there paths of education and decide what they want to do for an occupation. the german belief that one gets paid for his level of education and not by what one does or accomplishes.

And most of all the extremely high land value, and missing the distance from my family in the states.

  4. Yes, I've grown to like it.  My husband is German and I moved here to be with him.  Now I feel more at home here than I do in the States.

  5. I do.

  6. Yes, I've lived here for almost 7 years, I have to leave next year, I'm going to miss it. :(   I live in the Rein-Neckar region, very beautiful, lots to do, great food, great people.

  7. Love it! I lived in Schweinfurt area, a small town named Grettstadt for 2 years. Was born in Wiesbaden. Travel quite a bit to Germany now for work.

  8. I lived in Germany 2 different times in my life because of my father being in the Air Force...i do not really remember the first time because i was 3/4...there are things I do remember though...and the 2nd time I lived over there was form 7th grade to my senior year of high school...i have to say the best time of my life before my children were born...and getting married...

I loved living so close to so many countries...and back when I was there...we still had to get different currencies to go into each country...very cool...I love Germany and would go back in a heartbeat...the food, the beer, the people, the scenery, just everything...how many people can say they had their High School Prom at a Castle????  And lived in Germany and went to school in The Netherlands???  I can!!!

So yes I love it...love it...love it...I cannot wait to go over again, and bring my husband and children......

  9. yes, germany has a wide range of food and beer. gotta love that beer.

  10. I love it! I'm from Munich!

  11. most of the time I do. I´ve been living in Germany in different cities and towns for almost 10 years now. German bureaucracy can be a real hassle, but otherwise it is a clean safe country.

  12. I spent 18 months in Munich with the U. S. Army and another 18 months in Berlin.  Lovely country, Bavaria.  And Berlin was a fascinating city.   Though my name suggests German ancestry, none of my living relatives knows whether in fact it is.  I can trace my Irish heritage back 267 years to County Tyrone.  I plan to keep trying to learn the truth about my possible German connections...

  13. I like Germany very much. Now I live in Oberschwaben. It's a lovely area and the people are wonderful (once you get to know them).

  14. Germany is great. I like Frankfurt myself. Very friendly.

  15. I love Germany! I'm English and have been learning German for 7 years which meant I could go on an exchange to Munich for a week and it was the best time of my life! I really want to go to Berlin one day because everything I hear about it makes it so coool! So Prost and Tschuss to you all!
