Personally I hate the way the MVP is determined. Ya Kobe won it last year and well deserving, but If the Hornets had won the West than Chris Paul would have been named MVP. That is not a way to decide who MVP is by 1 team being a half a game better record then the next team. No Way Nash should have won back to back MVP's. Duncan neither. I think it should go to the player that if you take him away from that team, how bad would that team be. But it would have to be a winning team not a losing team. Now its just give it to the best player with one of the best team records in the league. Even though Kobe should have won it years ago.

  1. Look you can't win the MVP when you're not winning games so in that case Greg is an idiot for saying Lebron should have 3-4 MVPs by now. There a lot factors that goes with it and the MVP is based on season performance. Lastly, the MVP was never ever decided by stats whether its the 50s or the 60s.

  2. by that logic alone, lebron should have 3 or 4 by now.

  3. Although I was sore for Kobe wining it over Paul.I have to admit Kobe deserved it after all these years.MVP used to be decided by stats in the 50's-80's.But these days it's how valuable the player is to the team.

Chris would win at least 3..

  4. i agree with what you said....the MVP should be awarded to a player on a great winning team, not to a player on a losing team. You can't just give it to the best playeer on the best team(like when Dirk won it), but I do think that the most VALUABLE player should get the award. It seems that based on those standards, Lebron would win it every year if only his team won more games. Everyone knows that the cavs would be NOWHERE without him

  5. wait..so your telling me that u take Nash away from the 05 suns..they still win 64 games and Amare and Marion and virtually every other player on the roster have their best seasons 2 date?

and the 06 suns would still have won 55 games without Amare Stoudemire and made the conference finals in the tough tough west without their biggest post threat? do the stats lie?

    what are u smoking?

  6. -MVP used to be the best all around player

-Now the MVP is simply a team award, a popularity award, nothing more.

  7. yes

  8. I think they changed the rules once Nash won a few years back. personally i don't like the people that vote for it every year. I think GM's and coaches should vote for it but they can't vote for anyone on the team they are GM for. Kobe or CP3 could have won it last year.

I just think the sports reporters that have a vote have favorites
