I wrote this amatuer poem. Do you like it? Any suggestions?

An Ode to My Love

Your eyes are like gold to me

Everytime I look into them, I feel free

Your smile always makes me happy

Even if my day is down, dreary, and sappy

Your face is like the sun

A filled glow, happy and fun

Your kindness is the key

The key to comfort and happiness for me

Your voice is so soft and sweet

I love how your personality is clean and neat

I know my writing is amateur and informal,

But my emotions for you are not normal

I have said that I have loved you,

And I still do,

So in return, will you love me too?

I don't normally read much poetry, but this is a good starter. As said, it's just a little cliche. Other than that, the tempo's pretty good, if a bit odd in spots. What can sometimes help is to read out loud to test the sound; it can sometimes seem very different from what's in your head.

It isnt bad, it feels youthful, it needs a bit of work and too much is a bit cliche. I would dig a little deeper inside

i HATE poetry i had to do it earlier this year in langugage arts i was going to scream at my teacher
