Question:

Do you like my photography pictures?

I don't have a professional camera, just a Sony Cybershot DSC S700- the average normal $150 digital camera. I'm a beginner at photography, and I'm only 12 years old. None of my pictures are edited. What you see is what you get. Please understand that some of the pictures aren't perfect quality because of my camera, but I'm investing in a better one :D Here they are:

If I got a better camera do you think I could make it?

  4. i like the second one, the fourth one, and the last one...but the one with the ipod it looks like my nephew accidentally took that...

  5. I think your doing a great job, I see people with far better camera's twice your age that don't have the skills you do.  Keep practicing, you'll be a pro someday.

  6. Not bad. I think you definitely have potential. If you want some tips and tricks, check them out on my website, http://www.southernfaithphoto.com .

  7. The price of the camera has little to do with it.  Your eye does, and you're on the way to developing that it seems.  I wish the duck were in focus.  The stairs are nice.  Nice use of space in the water picture.

Semi-related story....  At a golf lesson the pro asked if anyone had a "broken club" -- one they just couldn't hit with.  My wife offered up an iron that she thinks is awful.  He smashed a beautiful, straight shot with it.  It's not the equipment.

Pressing that shutter release button a lot is the best training you'll get.  Be sure to have some fun at it, too.

  8. they look great!!

  9. A couple are just snapshots. And the 2 that stand out the most are the black and white plant one and the last one! I think there really good. I'm 13 i think you should get a flickr account its really cool and search for me i'm gummyworldlover

  10. Yeah - you've got potential! Keep experimenting and considering joining the flickr community, there a lot of great info/people on there! Also don't be afraid to edit your photos. All pro photographers do it, even back it the film days, they enhance there pictures contrast, color, dodge, burn, in the lab, now it's just easier to do on the computer. Just do as little as possible and don't get carried away like some people do. It's important to have those skills moving forward.

Also check out this book, it's a super easy read and very helpful for getting professional results. http://www.amazon.com/Digital-Photograph...
