  1. Oh yeah! It's not just the luck and the skill. it's the socialization. You can do anything and talk about anything while playing cards. The psychological warfare involved in poker is awesome, if you've got cunning people at your table. Or a friendly game of gin, spades, crazy eights is a great way to stay up all night telling dirty jokes. Switch partners, play loud music. It can also add a refined element to an out of control party; when you need a breather sit in for a hand or two.

  2. O Yeah! Especially Yugioh!

  3. It would be nice is you were a bit more specific.

I love playing card games, but I play TCG games like Yu-Gi-Oh.  It's a great game and keeps me busy for long stretches of time.  It's one of my best hobbies.  I trade, collect, and play the game and it is an amazing game and so fun to play.  It allows me to make friends and compete in tournaments every week at my local card shop.  I am even part of a team that travels around the country and plays in major Yu-Gi-Oh tournaments.

If you are talking about an actual playing card game like Poker or Black Jack, then yes I love to play them, but not as much.  I play a game with my family called 500 or another game called 5000, which is a bigger version of 500 with slightly different rule changes.  I also would love to play Spades, but never have enough people for that as you need 4.

  4. I love playing card games because most of them are games of strategy and skill but i like the risky ones and the ones that are all luck too. So I pretty much love every card game!

  5. I love them! You can take a pack of cards anywhere. Few card games cannot be tought quickly, even the more advanced ones. Best of all, its good social entertainment for the broadest range of social environments.

My nan started my sister and I on cards very early on. We played whist mostly (which I still feel is badly under-rated) and later solo whist. A lot of fond memories. At university, we discovered the tarot games, perfect balance of chance and strategy - I played a lot of those games with foreign language teachers from Germany, France, and Spain. More very fond memories.

Now, I don't feel right leaving the house without a pack of cards with me. Just in case.
