Do you like "Baseline Attack" or "Serve & Volley" game?

I personally like "Serve & Volley" game. The ITF (International Tennis body I guess) is killing this beautiful part of game by organizing Tournaments on slower surfaces. They are also making the Traditionally faster surfaces like Grass and Hard slower to kill it further. It's really disappointing and I wonder if any of the modern greats will be Serve & Volleyers. Federer has admitted to have won the Wimbledon titles playing predominantly from the Baseline. Now, Nadal, who is predominantly a Baseline player, has won the Wimbledon title and might be able to win more. Anyhow, I wonder if people still have any affection for the Serve and Volley game in general. (I'm pretty sure, we won't be seeing anyone like Pete, Boris, or Edberg in the future.)

  1. It depends who I am playing and what surface I am playing on.

  2. I personally don't play tennis but i love watching the serve and volley game. Kinda sad how its becoming less and less popular.

  3. Personally I like doing both.  I don't really serve and volley that much during singles because I am really tentative, but during doubles I serve in volley on every serve.  If you have a good serve and a good volley it is a powerful weapon.  I think eventually there will be a great serve and volleyer like Sampras, because it is still effective.

  4. Personally I like being an all court player but if I had to choose one I would choose Serve and Volley because its more exhilarating and it finishes off the point faster. I believe baseline rallies should only prepare for the volley not to actually win the point.
