Yes, my family is very social, that is why we chose to home school.  In the public school system you have forced/false socialization.  In real life you don't just socialize with 25 other people who are your same age; and in the public school system you are not allowed to talk (socialize) with others unless the teachers tell you you can, or during a very small amount of time such as recess or lunch.  Home schooled children are not, contrary to popular myths, locked away in their homes all day.  They are out in the community learning true social skills from all types of people of all age groups.

I like to tell people that I homeschooled because going to school would have meant losing critical social time.  Seriously, going to school would have meant choosing one or two of the following: dance, violin, orchestra, quartet, volunteering, theater, my job, art classes, and mid-week slumber parties.  So I chose to homeschool and continue doing all of those activities at the same time.  Can you imagine how many friends I would have stopped seeing if I cut back on my activities?!  It would have been devastating.     So as you can see, yes, I love socializing.

Yes, we do.  It's actually one of the benefits of homeschooling - more freedom over your schedule and more time to socialize :)
