Yes, I name them.  Since I live in Texas, we have spiders all over the yard.  They eat the bugs that I don't like.  If I find one in the house, I take it outside to find a new home.

I don't like banana spiders, brown recluse or black widows.  I gave up my garden last year for a female banana spider and her babies.  She hissed at me.  She was 4 inches long.

Yes, I like spiders very much. I like them outside, I like what they do, I like watching them and I've had a tarantula and a black widow, who hatched babies. Unfortunately they all died because my family didn't take care of them as they promised to while I was away at school. C'est la vie I guess (well not for the spiders lol) I will just have to try my luck another time, when I have more time to care for them myself.

Andyrew-- the majority of spiders are NOT dangerous to humans. Even black widows are rarely deadly unless you're very very young, very old, or very sick already. Spiders, even the potentially dangerous ones, are very beneficial.

even blind people and babies don't like spiders. the human nature is to hate things that are possibly dangerous. our ancestors roamed the earth when it was a lot warmer and there were posonous spiders here.
