  5. SORRY FOR THE OVERKILL, but I love Talking Heads :)

This will most likely be an UnPopular List, but...

I think the "1st 4 albums" of The Heads, were a Magnificent Example of a Band, Progressing - With Each Album.

Ironically -- The Singles from the First 3 are My Least Favorite songs, because I think they disrupt the Flow of "said" Album -

But, the 5th & 6th Albums - The Singles are My Preferred Songs - LOL

So they are NAWT on My List :(

I DID Copy these Songs from My Personal Spreadsheet on The Heads --

But I put them in the Order that I Truly Believe is their TOP 25 Best --

  6. Big time.  I wish they would tour again, but David Byrne says it's not gonna happen.

I like Tom-Tom Club and David's solo stuff as well!

  7. Yes!

I love the Talking Heads. They're definitely one of my favorite bands.

My favorite album is probably either Talking Heads '77, Remain in Light, Fear of Music...wait, I like all of them!

There's no way i could pick a favorite song...but i like Psycho Killer, This Must Be The Place, And She Was, Girlfriend, Burning Down The House, Life During Wartime...

  8. Yeah, Good Band

My Top 5 Talking Heads Songs

    1 Nothing But Flowers

    2 And She Was

    3 Burning Down The House

    4 Psycho Killer

5 Take Me To The River

Nice to see Someone ask a Q about this Band

  9. This is not my beautiful house!! (lol)

  10. Yeah, they're one of my all time favorite bands. My favorite album by them would probably be '77 closely followed by More Songs About Buildings & Food. Some of my favorite songs: This Must Be the Place (Naive Melody), Uh-oh Love Comes To Town, (Nothing But) Flowers, Road to Nowhere, The Book I Read, Pulled Up, Found a Job, Artists Only, Love For Sale, The Big Country, Ruby Dear, etc.. lol there's so many awesome songs and yet they're so unappreciated.

  11. You know it!

Favorite record: Remain in Light (or maybe Fear of Music)

Favorite Songs - Crosseyed and Painless, Making Flippy Floppy, Animals, Cities, Swamp, and lots, lots more.

    *************

The first band I was in used to cover Life During Wartime. Probably my favorite cover I've ever done. That was a fun group.

    ************

Yeah, that's a great, great tune. One of the songs that got me into them (that one and Psycho Killer).

Changed my hairstyle so many times now

    I don't know what I look like.

  12. LOL! Me too.

I'd say the album in heaviest rotation is Stop Making Sense.

    In second place: True Stories

(both of which are also DVDs ~ first one a concert film, and the second... well, it fairly well defies description. Suffice it to say, tho, that I *love* it ;-)

Speaking in Tongues also VERY good, and Little Creatures ~ just okay. I got into them in the early '80s, and am not too familiar with their first couple albums. When "Take me to the River" hit big on the radio, I became an instant fan...

    **edit**

Hey Prof ~ when Life During Wartime came out I could. not. get. enough of that song!

I got some groceries, some peanut butter

to last a couple of days

But I ain't got no speakers

    ain't got no headphones

ain't got no records to play
