I just came back from Tianjin, a big ugly city near Beijing, the food there was gross, too much oil and salt, too much beef and lamb, less diversified materials, awfully cooked, and I don't like the city style of Northern China, the streets are too straight and wide, the distance between buildings is wide, everything is big and wide.

What do you think?

  1. Yes, you should try the Sichuan Food, it hot and delecious!

you can find more cuisine's information in http://www.chinaassistor.com/

  2. Go eat some c**p if you don't like it!

  3. I was zhe same ! I was reside in south of China. The cuisine richness than northern. I suggest you come to here, you will be like

  4. I couldn't agree more. Arguably the best food in China are those from Southern China particularly those of Guangdong Cantonese's cuisine.

Of all the regional varieties of Chinese cuisine, Cantonese is the best known outside China; most "Chinese restaurants" in Western countries serve authentic Cantonese cuisine and dishes based on it. Its prominence outside China is due to its palatability to Westerners and the great numbers of early emigrants from Guangdong. In China, too, it enjoys great prestige among the eight great traditions of Chinese cuisine, and Cantonese chefs are highly sought after throughout the country.

  5. oh, the food is beijing is awful. too oily and it tastes weird sometimes. even those in the big restaurants and hotels. i descended from northern china though (: haha.

  6. Now you understand why I have to cook for myself in Beijing.  The tastes of the northern food are very blend!

  7. Is it north or south where chow mein is dry crunchy c**p instead of the soft noodles? I hate whichever region that is.

  8. Yes, I don't like the food in Beijing either, too oily as well.

Oh how I miss a oven....

I have bad time in Tainjin as well

I had to spend the weekend at Tainjin once due to a medical emergency on the way back from Tangshan (not me but a friend). Plus I saw an act of violence in the hospital next to the train station that I thought I would only ever see in the west.

  9. 我喜欢北方的食物

    上海食品太甜

    有太多的油

but you are right about the buildings being short and fat and the roads being too wide

  10. No....

I JUST Love Yunnan ( 雲南 ) and Sichuan ( 四川 ) Food!!  I love HOT and SPICY food......Ohh...so yum...

could die for Indian food too...

  11. I think you need to get a job!

  12. I am not a picky person for food. What's wrong with beef and lamb? How I wish to eat lamb everyday!

If you think the distance is spacious, then you should go to Canada. It is even worst.

  13. Maybe the south will suit you better!

Sichuan cooks specialize in chilies and hot peppers and Sichuan dish is famous for aromatic and spicy sauces. Guangdong cooking makes use of many ingredients. They look for fresh, tender, crisp textures. Huai Yang cuisine stresses the natural flavors. Dishes are strong but not greasy, and light but delicate. Tan cuisine is both sweet and salty. There is a saying that “southerners have a sweet tooth, and northerners crave salt”, but Tan dishes manage to satisfy both. Because China’s local dishes have their own typical characteristics, Chinese food can be divided into eight regional cuisines, the distinction of which is now widely accepted.
