They are hoping to get instant replay in before the season is over and use it in the post season. What do you think of instant replay? I think we should use it, but only for home run calls.

  1. Not really.

I mean, I understand where they're coming from, but to me human error has just always been a part of baseball.

I wouldn't really mind if they used it for foul/fair balls or home run calls, but other than that they shouldn't use it.

Can you imagine how long a game would be if you could have IR for balls and strikes? *shudders in horror*

  2. What cons are there really? None, come on people slow down the game? Are you seriuos? It takes more time to have a "conference" on the field with the umpries than it would to look at a couple replays. Why wouldnt you want the calls to be right? It makes all the sense in the world to use it. I dont agree with strikes/balls but everything else it could & should be used. Everyone at home watching already gets to see if the call was right or wrong, so lets make all those calls right. Balls & Strikes never it wouldnt work.

  3. no :(

  4. I like the idea of instan replay because a lot of times, umpires miss homeruns and certainn outs. But if they do have it, there wont be as manny arguments and people getting tossed, and that is a fun part of baseball.

  5. No,I don't.I don't understand it.

I thought they wanted to speed up the game, but this is going to slow it down even more and make the game lose its rhythm.I agree that we should use it for HR calls only, because if we use it for everything then it's going to be become really long game.I think only super physical sports should use instant replay, such as Football and Arena Football (although the NBA uses it for a good reason too).I'm sure it's going to take a while to get used to it,but I'm sure one day we'll be saying "Man,I'm happy we got instant replay in baseball".

  6. yes and no for me.

yes because it could make homerun calls, fair or foul balls on the line and stuff like that more fair.

i could see it being used in the playoffs or world series..

but then no because it would slow the game down and just take a lot more time.

  7. I love the idea of instant replay, it might take longer but, less managers will be ejected, and we won't have to agree with umps(umpires) anymore.

  8. i've heard everything about how it will slow down the game, but seriously, it takes less than 3 minutes to look over a replay. I think its a great idea because it works in every other sport, and I think it might speed up the game, because there won't be argueing if there's proof who's right or wrong.

The worst part, which is a huge thumbs down, would be how it would affect radio brodcasts. Imagine: "A ball hit to deep left, so and so back, and it's gone, and the ball karoms back onto the field, and that's a homerun pending an instant replay..."

    That would just suck.

  9. its a yes and no answer for me.  We should have it for judgment on HR's and fair or fouls because they can change the momentum of the game with one blown call.  We shouldn't have it because it takes away the human judgment of the game and human mistakes that kept the game going and widely popular for over 100 years.

  10. The only instant replay mlb is going to approve is the homerun if i went fair and if it was over the the wall.

But as of last night mlb umpires boycott

As an umpire i hate it but as a fan i get use to it.

  11. I would like to see it only in the playoffs. It could easily be used for

    Foul/Fair Home Run balls.

Extremely close plays that include a force-out, that can change the game.

Home Runs off the yellow line, or whatever is on the stadium wall.

No check swings, tag plays, strikes/balls.

  12. Yeah, I think it would be good, but I agree the rhythm of the game, especially the pitchers rhythm
