    first a group of Amish people in their horses and buggys going down a dirt road to their local meeting place.

    and secondly i think of Hannibal Lecter the infamous ,evil, cannibal.

  8. Being Scottish, I feel as though I'm supposed to say yes, but honestly, no, I don't like it. Makes me think of Hamish Macbeth (that TV show with Robert Carlyle).

  12. I'm from Scotland - I know two people called Hamish and they're both in their thirties so it doesn't sound like an old-fashioned name to me, but I can see why some people might think it is.

    Personally, I like the name, but just in case your son doesn't like it when he grows up it might be an idea to have a middle name that is slightly less unusual if you're not from Scotland, so he can choose to use his middle name instead.
