Do you like the name Howard?

It is the name of my husband's grandfather who has passed away and he is serious about using it as a first name for our baby. I'm not so sure about it and see it more as a middle name. Can you help us out w/ possible middle names or even a first name that would sound good w/ it as a middle name?

  2. I like Howard James

    or

    James Howard

Lovely thought - Howard will be smiling ..x*x

  3. terrible

  4. Howard is a good old name that you can't go wrong with. How about Howard Lee?

  5. It reminds me of a fat man who lives in the country. Middle name will be fine

    i like the name Zack

  6. YES! i do think Howard is a good name esspecially because it is a family name and a middle could be some thing like micheal or anthony

  7. Honestly, no.  I would use it as a middle name.  It is still paying homage to your hubbie's grandfather.  If you named your baby Howard, the kids in school would call him "Howie".  I just don't care for it and I don't think you do either.  Here's some ideas for first names that would sound okay with Howard as a middle name:

    Aiden Howard

    Joseph Howard (Joey)

    Dylan Howard

    Riley Howard (I like that)

    Spencer Howard

    Braxton Howard (sounds cool)

Maxwell Howard (Max, which is cute!)

Brady Howard (I like the name, Brady)

    Cody Howard

    Casey Howard

    Daniel Howard

Benjamen Howard (I love the name, Ben)

James Howard (James is a classic name, it sounds good with Howard and you could call him Jim or Jimmy!)

    Brandon Howard (sounds really cool!)

    Zachary Howard (I like it!!!)

    Austin Howard

    Bradley Howard (Brad)

    Mark Howard

    Johanathan Howard

    Gavin Howard

I think I came up with some cool sounding names!  Let me know what you think!  And what you decide!  You are right though, don't make the kid's name Howard as his first name!  It's just too old-fashioned.  I hope you have a beautiful, healthy baby boy who brings you a lot of joy, laughter, and love!!!

  8. Howard is outdated and old sounding.  I would def only use it as a *possible* middle name.

  9. I am actually in the same situation. Find out what Howard's middle name was. Then try to create a name made up of both names. I.e. my grandpa was named Ted Walton, I am trying convenience my husband on the name Dalton. Good luck!

  10. I would understand it more as a middle name too. How about these first names:

    Jonathon Howard

    Seth Howard

    Henry Howard

    Arthur Howard

I just thought maybe these names would sound good with Howard, I guess you could also switch the name around so Howard is the first name but it wouldn't sound as good as I wrote it. Here are some names with Howard as the first name:

    Howard John

    Howard Henry

    Howard James

    Howard Seth

Good luck! I hope you find the perfect name soon.

  11. Dylan Howard

    Jake Howard

    Benjamin Howard,

the possibilities are endless, i agree with you though, howard should be the middle name

  12. Howard is an old fashion name like my dad was HAROLD

maybe in a middle name it would be OK

whatever you pick the child won't like (probably)
