Fell in love with it after watching Gilmore Girls...

I think it sounds like a really cool name for a boy - what do you think? Also do you think it should be short for anything....Jesse maybe? I don't know if Jesse is pronounced like jess-ee or just jess...

What do you think about any of that?

  1. Yes

  2. I like Jess. It's actually my next-door neighbor's name, and he's a big, tough cop, so don't let people tell you it's too "girly" for a boy! And don't forget about Jesse James, either! Okay, he's not the best role model for a child, but he WAS tough!

I honestly prefer Jesse (which is prnounced "Jess-ee"), but if you name your son Jess, that could easily become his nickname anyway.

Jess is a good, strong name - if you like it, go for it!

  3. sorry, but i don't like it

  7. Sounds like a girls name, when he gets older and goes to school, the other boys will tease him by calling him g*y or calling him Jessica.

  8. jesse is pronounced jess-ee

i'm not keen on the name jess for a boy, everyone will call him jessica as it's commonly used as a pet name for a girl called Jessica butit's personal choice, thats just my opinion.

I also don't like jesse as it is my dogs name but if it wasn't im sure i would feel differently

  9. short for Jesse- an old name, think Jesse James.

There is a song 'Jesse' by Carly Simon.

  10. Jesse is pronounced jess-ee. I think Jess sounds more like a girls name. My friend's daughter is called Jess (Jessica).

  11. I think it's a good name as long as his full name is Jesse. Otherwise people would probably assume that it was (at least I would). Jesse means "A gift from God." Jesse is pronouced with an 'e' sound.

    I loved Gilmore girls! : )

  12. It's okay but jessie is better x

  13. Jess short for Jesse (JES ee) would be awesome.

Jesse is actually a form of the name Yishai (yee SHAHY).

In the Old Testament, Yishai was the name of King David's father. The English transcription of the name is Jesse.

Or maybe something shorter like Main or even Mary.  Mary is good as not many people will forget it. Yes Mary as he will stand out in high school.

  19. A neighbours cat used to be called Jess where i live.
