    Besides, you know how sometimes people joke that "haha, yeah, Modesty's my middle name" ? That would never, ever be funny to her.

    I would strongly advise against it.

    I only like Joy and Grace.

  9. I can't  imagine ANY little girl named Modesty. Or a teenager. Or a full-grown adult.

  11. I don't care for it but I've heard much worse. Modesty is something the girl may not have when she grows up and even if she does, she will spend her life answering as to why Mom picked this name out. There are soooooooooooooo many beautiful, easy names to choose from. Why turn a regular word into a human being's name for them to live with all their life?

    It is very nice. I think Modesty Faith, Modesty Grace, or Modesty Dawn are all gorgeous names.  

  18. I am a strong proponent of the virtue of modesty (both in attitude and in dress), but I don't care for it as a name.  The virtue-type names I do like are Faith, Grace, Hope, and Joy.  Charity is okay.  And I don't care for Prudence, Patience, Liberty, Jubilee or Modesty.
