  1. yes. very unique. that way when she's in grade school and the teacher calls out a name 4 people don't all raise their hand! seriously, it's a beautiful name.

  2. absolutely but I have a thing about tending to like eastern european names. i think they sound graceful.

  3. No, I don't even know how it is pronounced but I don't like it. Keep looking. Good luck.

  4. For a girl???  It's very harsh sounding.  It makes me think of an old, very large, ugly Russian woman.

  5. not at all

  6. I actually don't like it.  In my opinion it sounds like a name a kids show would use for one of those big, scary ladies with an accent.  I just said it aloud and to me it sounded more like a word than a name.

But it is interesting.  And I'm not German so I don't know what German names sound nice and which don't.  If it's popular it's obviously pretty(Or have you heard of more adults with that name? If you have it's probably not a nice name for a baby)

Brigita looks nice! Is it pronounced Bridge-EE-tah or BRIDGE-it-ah?  I like the first pronounciation better but the second is cute too.

  7. nope.

  8. I have a male friend named Sven. I think that is a nice girls version of it.

    I like it.

  9. Brigita is soooooo graceless... it's right there with Helga in terms of the sort of woman I'd associate it with: larger than me, shapeless other than her tummy, and a big fan of cooking pork.  Sounds more like the name of a battleship than a girl.

Svenya flows nicely, as does Svenka, but then I'm Swedish, so that makes sense, haha.  Both are feminine forms of the name Sven, which I've considered naming my kid...

  10. YES:) Svenya is sooo pretty, def go for it.

  11. I like Brigita! Cute.

    What about Anya or Nikola?

  12. Svenja.. or Saskia..yes they are used in Germany.. Svenja I think more up north.. in Denmark perhaps.. but also in Germany.. If you like the name Brigitta.. that exists with double T or Birgit, Birte, Britta, Brigitta, Brigitte...all stem from the same meaning... x*x You should have no problem pronouncing the name Svenja.. it's pronounced the way it's written...almost.. x*x
