I feel as though Pasha would be a better name for a boy. (On so you think you can dance season 3 there was a russian dancer named Pasha, but he was a man)

Don't like it, sorry.  But don't be discouraged if you still want to use it.  If you like the Russian sound, what about Natasha?  Much more classic and there's lots of nicknames an adult can choose then when she's ready.  Just remember that we want our children's names to be different sounding but as an adolescent and an adult, people rarely want obscure names or to have to tell  people how to spell/pronunciate it every time they give it out.

Pasha would be a really strange name for a little girl.  Traditionally, it's a title used for an official by the Turks.

So it's sort of like calling your daughter Duchess or Countess - a smidge weird, a whole lot pretentious.

Portia is a similar name, used by Shakespeare for the heroine of The Merchant of Venice.  She's an admirable character to inspire a child's name.  (She's a clever, witty and gorgeous heiress who makes the famous "quality of mercy" speech in the pivotal court scene.)

Sasha, traditionally a masculine Russian nickname for Alexander, is another option - and if Mr. Obama wins the White House, it will be the name of one of the first daughters, too!

But please give Pasha a miss.
