  1. Yes, they are both classic names.  Good choice.

  2. Like most people here I like Oliver as when shorten you have Ollie which I think is also a lovely name, but Samantha (Sam!!) not to keen, but again - it is nothing to do with anyone else, it is what you and you partner like..

My little boy is called Kai (which people tend to call him Kyle - grrrrrrrrr)and loads of people tried to put me off, so i stopped telling people - but it does depend on whether you will like the shortened version as people will do it....x

  3. I love them both :)

  4. I actually like both names, well done for not thinking of stupid names like 'apple' or 'princess' as so many do these days.

  5. very nice names

  6. Samantha and Oliver are really good names.. they are really cute, and naive, and that is what I like in baby names.. they may be a bit used, but still, if that's your heart's desire, it is good. Anyway, names doesn't matter, the important is how you will make your baby feel loved with your care and attention.

  7. I like Oliver, definitely.

Samantha's nice... but it's a little too popular for my taste.

  8. I like Samantha but I'm not a huge fan of Oliver.

  9. I like the names a lot! And I think that they are really cute!

Oliver is a name that is very cute, but it isn't too popular yet. And Samantha is a name that is timeless and one that will never grow old!

  10. Very nice! Good choices! Congrats.

  11. I like Samantha & Oliver is my Black Labs name so yes I like both of them. I am about to have my first child if it is a boy his name will be Glenn & I like Aubrey for a girls name. What do you think?

  12. I LOVE the name Oliver...not so keen on Samantha but if you love it...that is all that matters!

  13. I like Oliver but i'm not too keen on Samantha. Only because of someone i've met. But i do like the name Sam when it's shortened

  14. I don't think they're common at all. They're lovely names!

  15. Yes, I like them.  They are both good, solid names.

  16. I like Samantha and I like Oliver as a whole name, however can't help thinking the inevitable will happen and it will get shortened to Ollie (which I hate)...

  17. Perfectly nice names.

  18. im not to crazy about oliver but thats just my opinion! samantha? i love it!!

  19. They're nice but I think that they are a bit common.

  20. Yes, I like both of these names.  Do you have middle names selected yet?

  21. Yes definatley!

    Congratulations!

  22. They are nice if you like Sammy and Oily also, because that is what they will be called at school.

    .

  23. I think they're both lovely names.

*Brief rant--I hate when people respond to this sort of question with statements like "They're nice, but too common."

    A) No ones' making them name their child that name; and

    B) I would rather my child have a "common" name then a completely weird/misspelled name in the name of 'uniqueness.'  Having a common or uncommon name doesn't alter how unique your child will be.*

Sorry about that, I just had to get it out!!

But I love the names you have chosen, I think that they're beautiful.

  24. I think they are absolutly wonderful names good luck with a new child

and go for what ever name you want but i think they are both beautiful

    names :)

  25. Oliver is a lovely name (but be aware at school he may be called Ollie). Not so keen on Sam (Samantha).

There are too many about. But its not up to us, its up to you! As long as you're happy, thats all that matters.

    CONGRATULATIONS!

  26. I like Oliver but not too keen on Samantha.
