Do you like these lines?

One day I, Cotter

Caught my Emma on her bike

And she rode straight on past me

Both on road and in life

It was then that I surrendered

Raised my white flag to hope

Saw what I was asking

There’s no fire, only smoke

No hope for my pitied self

Troublesome as I would be

For all I do during hours

Is pen sorrows and poetry

But still I play with faith

That I can make things better

As I’m sure I won your heart

With truths scribbled on my letter

Next day I spied her

She was laughing with her friends

Most likely it was at me

Here my fascination ends

We were once like lovers

Can’t go back to that day

And so reasoning slips on through

She told me yesterday

I want to move on

And find a girl called Sue

We can cuddle under stars

And scratch matching tattoos

But Sue she must be busy

For she hasn’t came along

Now I’ve nothing to do

As my Emma love is too strong
