Do you like this idea for my room?

Question

Okay so we JUST got bought this house which is very beautiful. The guy who lived in it before had two little kids and in my room all the walls are white except one wall which has this ugly weird design. So yeah I have a reason to be able to paint :)

Anyways what I was thinking would be really cool was I paint that wall black and then have neon colors like pink, blue, orange, and yellow (something like that) and squirt it or sponge it over the black. Then the rest of my room I would paint the neon pink :) Then I could hang some posters and c**p, I think it would look rad XD

What do you think (btw I am 15 sooo yeah).

i like the idea of a black wall with other bring colors. but dont sponge it. put the paint on a paint brush and flick the brush at the wall and it will have little dots kind of all over the wall. and i think you will get sick of the neon pink. i painted my room bright pink, and im repainting it. it was cool for a while but it got irritating. so maybe paint it a less bright color.

that sounds really cool, but make sure it's not something you're going to get tierd of super quick.

like i know one time i painted my room BRIGHT pinks and purples and then a few months later I was totally over it but still stuck with it.

love the idea, but it might not be the most practical one...

I had a very similar idea of what I wanted to do with my room (which also required painting my walls black....great minds think alike :]), but in the end it turned out making my room super dark and any bright colors which stood out against the black gave me a bit of a headache. I would suggest leaving the walls white (and painting over the ugly design) and splashing a combo of black, neon pink, green, yellow, orange, etc. onto the white wall. This will still give your room an awsome artistic and crazy flair, yet still allow your brain to function while in the premises :]

For me, I would get a huge piece of wood and mount it to look like a picture frame, then color away. The wood would soak in the paint and it would be much easier to prep for the next change - of age- of mood- etc. I myself love to paint and have changed our house so many times, well I wish I had done this idea to my bedroom. After years of living in military housing I gave color a try, I love the Mexican color scheme to boot. But with the idea I am sharing with you, you can change the wood out every now and then. Would make a cool art project too.  I hope this helps.

Sounds great!!! Another idea is that you can splatter the neon colors on the black wall, and it would be really cool if you could do it with some glow in the dark paint, too!!!! Have fun with it! :]
