Do you like this idea??

Question

When I'm ready to have a child i want to have a baby girl, I really want to name her after my cousin that passed away not too long ago (Cancer) and she told me she wanted to have her baby named brooke, but she died so soon an wasnt able to have the baby, So i thought i would name my baby after her.Or i will name her after my cousin Lorri (Loraine) Do you think thats a good idea?? Like a sweet idea?

That is a very thoughtful idea and as long as you like that name and your not just doing it for your cousin, i think you should go for it! :)

i don't know if using brooke would be the right thing to do. i might be way off the mark here but it could be seen as you taking over the name that was intended for your cousin's baby that never was. if i was you, i'd use loraine. it's a really pretty name and good way to remember your cousin. plus, lorri is a really cute nickname. sorry for your loss and good luck with the baby.

That's an absolutely beautiful idea. I'd name her Brooke. Brooke Lorraine is pretty but you want something you picked yourself in there. I have always wanted to name my daughter Madeleine after my cousin who is both mentally and physically disabled. Kind of like my daughter will be able to run around and communicate, living the life my cousin never had. I want a tribute to her. A perfect little girl which I know my cousin would have been if she hadn't been born the way she was.

yea i think its really neat and maybe if you dont want to name her brooke use it as her middle name r even Brooke Loraine  maybe lol but i dont think its a bad idea at all really sweet!

you can name her Lauren Brooke.

Loraine is a bit out-dated now, Lauren is very much like Loraine but more trendy. i think it's a very nice thought.

it's nice to name after someone, but i'd always do a little alteration to the name. it's fair for the baby to have it's own name, not handed over by someone.
