  1. i like it.. leave it as. if you're looking for something similar, samuel would be an alternative. but i do like saul, sounds really nice.

  17. It's ok but I personally wouldn't name my child that, although I can see why people would.  It would suit a child of who is tanned with dark hair.

  19. Not really, but if the meaning has a special connotation for you and your family, then I'd say, yes, go for it. It will be special to the son when he asks why you named him that, and it'll be a reminder that God answered your prayer.

    EDIT: Saul wasn't bad after he converted and the king wasn't bad until he forsook God. I don't see any negative connotations with Saul, not really.

  23. You could resurrect it.  It seems biblical.  Also, I'm reminded of it being the name of one of the old guys in Return to Me the movie.  So it's an older person's name.
