In a period where Victorian beliefs and values were portrayed in plays, Henrik Ibsen talent would undoubtedly crash with the norms, where his plays were too controversial for his time. His plays were considered scandalous to many of his era and any challenge to the Victorian believes and values would be considered immoral and offensive. He moved away from the Romantic style of plays and brought the problems of everyday life onto the stage. Most of the plays that were being produced and played during his era were considered to be romantic style and which they only portrayed fictional ideas of society. The Romantic style plays weren’t talking nor discussing the in depth issues of society such as poverty, morality and among other important issues.

  1. Cool, but I am concerned you think that congenital syphilis is a problem of everyday life.  Send me the names of your sisters at once.

  2. No, I do not like this paragraph.

Whether I like a paragraph written about an author or not is not a question about History. Try Homework Help for corrections (and you have made a few punctuation errors) with paragraphs on authors.

  3. It's a little diluted. Something more like this:

During the Victorian period, the "moral values" of the current society was the common theme of most theatrical plays.  Henrik Ibsen was an enormously talented writer, yet his dramas were not well received.  They were considered scandalous and offensive at best, and immoral at worst.  The romantic style was the norm during Ibsen's era, and plays only presented the romantic ideology of a prudish and prurient society.  Ibsen moved away from romanticism, and instead wrote with a realism that explored in-depth issues of society, such as poverty, morality and death - something the romanticists never did - and it caused the Victorians to squirm in their seats.

    That's a little clearer.
