For my 8th grade graduation we are supposed to pick a quote that represents who we are, and what we belive in. This is what I chose:

"Everything you hear is an opinion, not a fact and everything you see is a prospective, not the turth"

-Marcus Aurelius

yes, or no?

  1. I like it, and it is pretty close to my own opinion.

I do my best to be a free-thinker and I search for truth wherever it may be found.

I really do believe that there is lots of opinion that people take as facts.  Such people will accuse you of being ignorant if you happen to have a different opinion than they do.

At the same time, I don't believe that EVERYTHING is opinion or perspective.  There are things which are just plain true and not subject to opinion.

If you have stepped on a nail and it has gone through your foot, this is a fact that nobody can deny (in their right mind).  How badly it hurts is subjective and is a matter of opinion or perspective.

  2. It's a good one =)

Shows that you are open, yet not willing to condemn yourself within a box. You're a far thinker, and you don't take things for granted.

  3. I personally like that quote however I am not sure it really represents you, I don't beleive it can represent anyone.

You see the quote, at least the way I read it is to not listen to what others tell you but to find your own way.

Looking into it a bit deeper it could be representative however I beleive it is to be applied to a situation rather than a person.

Please note that I do approve the message as a free-thinker myself.

  4. is what means I have to quote

  5. It's pretty good.  But I find that some idiots respect no opinions but their own.

  6. Yes. it's a good one. I like it.
