Do you like to confess things or do you keep your mistakes to yourself?

I'm a very private person. I prefer to go directly to the source of forgiveness. So I make my confessions to God.

I try to keep mistakes to myself but then end up blurting them out in public.

Actual example:

My friend:  So, how are you?

Me:  One time, when I was five, I threw up in a lady's purse! *breath, breath*

My friend: *odd look*

It is more important to know our mistakes and  not repeat them again  rather than confessing the  things to other  people.

I used to confess it, but as I grow older I find that mistakes aren't fatal and I don't need someone to tell me it's okay.  I can brush off the feeling of guilt.

It depends, will it bring healing or grief? Sometimes it is just better to learn a lesson, without destroying your life. Especially if who you, feel you should confess to is not a person that can understand mistakes happen.

It depends whether you are talking about personal failings (which I mainly keep betwwen myself and God unless I think my experience can help others), or if you are talking about general mistakes we make at work.  Whenever I make a mistake at work, I always confess to my boss.  I feel that if I try to cover it up and pretend someone else did it, my boss would be more angry than if I go ahead and say something in the beginning.  Also it lets your boss know he/she can trust you.  Many times it is easier for your boss to fix a mistake when it first happens than it is for him/her to try to unravel the whole mess later.  Your boss already knows you are not perfect so as long as you are not making too many mistakes, they will probably respect you more if you own up.
