With most of us having such busy work schedules we often don't have much of a choice.

I prefer to eat alone to answer the question.

I like to eat with my bf, however I hate eating with a huge group.

If I eat alone, I actually get to enjoy what I'm eating. If there are people around me, talking, I never get to thoroughly enjoy my food. But that's just me.

Yeah, I always get embarrassed and hardly eat if I'm out with friends.

Yes.  I enjoy my food.  Let my mind wander.  Maybe look at a magazine.

Yes I do. I don't know why but people seem to think it's time to philosophize, or tell tales, or carry a conversation of your day with your mouth full of food. Worse yet; there are the idiots who insist on talking with their mouth full of food and want a frigging answer from you.

Then there are those who do not know how to eat properly with any company at all. Rude noises from their flapping mouths and gross noises emanating from their spit filled maws.

Too many idiots at the dinner table too often these days.

One of the main reasons I refuse to patronize restaurants.

Sometimes. The anonymity and solidarity can be comfortable and pleasant, a change from usually eating with many people around. But nothing can beat good company, lots of merriment and good food.

i think it depends on my mood and the meal.

i like to eat breakfast alone because i don't like having to think about conversation before i'm really awake.

but eating dinner alone is lonely.

i like to have my friends and family around.

and when i'm reading and eating, i HATE being bothered.
